Expo Advice for Students

• Go on a fact-finding mission and attend as many of the sessions as possible. Public sector employees are excited to explain what the career fields are really like as well as share information about the skills and/or education needed to be successful.  
• Explore a session about a career area that you may have never considered before. You may surprise yourself and discover a new career possibility.
• ​Think about questions you'd like to ask when attending the sessions, such as:
• What skills are necessary for the career?
• What type of education do you need?
• What do they like best about their career?
• What is the biggest challenge?
• What can I do now to prepare myself?
• Take the next step to learn more by signing up for an internship, job shadowing program, or even a volunteer opportunity within public service career fields that interest you most.
